Menteng was home, and still is the preferred residential area for many prominent national
and international leaders. In 1975, Ali Sadikin issued a gubernatorial degree, declaring
Menteng as a cultural heritage area as part of his efforts in preserving the unique colonial
architecture within the elite subdistrict.
Designed with timeless architectural elements that define the ultimate function of its form, to provide a comfortable, safe & beautiful habitat.
Located at the heart of Menteng, a prestigious subdistrict of Central Jakarta. During the colonial era, Menteng was designed by Pieter Adriaan Jacobus Moojen, a prominent Dutch architect to resemble the garden city concept of Sir Ebenezer Howard, a proponent of a utopian city where people live harmoniously, side by side with nature. This ambitious city project took 29 years to complete, and in 1939, the urban residential neighborhood designed for the upper-middle class European communities was completed.
The plan combined wide boulevards with public gardens, such as Taman Suropati, Taman Menteng & Taman Proklamasi, with iconic landmarks dedicated to the arts, such as Bataviasche Kunstkring, now known as the Kunstkring Gallery and Taman Ismail Marzuki.
